     Woodworking For Everyone
Welcome to Northern Alberta Woodcrafters Guild
The Northern Alberta Woodcrafters Guild (NAWG) is an Edmonton, Alberta based group of woodworking hobbyists who meet the 3rd Thursday of the month from September to June, usually in NAIT classroom V105. Members range from professionals to novice with interests ranging from cabinet and furniture making to chair making, box making, toy making and wood turning. Many woodworking techniques such as mortise and tenoning, dovetailing, veneering, staining, finishing, french polishing, steam bending, and wood joinery are discussed. In addition, topics such as tool sharpening, wood selection, wood toxicity, tool maintenance and upholstery are reviewed.

Meetings include guest speakers, visits to shops and regular club events such as furniture night and a 2x4 contest. Show and tell allows members to share woodworking expertise. We often get to preview supplier’s tools and participate in local woodworking shows. In addition, a hands-on workshop is sponsored each year. We have a large video library and books of woodworking plans

Fees are currently $45/year. There is a Christmas lunch at the December meeting.
